About Our Team

	W. Scott Engle III, LUTCF, President– Born in Minnesota, Scott moved to Cayucos, CA in 1967. It was in the first few days of living at the beach that he picked up his first surfboard and never looked back. While surfing is one of Scott’s passions, he also enjoys helping others. In 1980, he started an insurance agency to help clients protect their assets by educating people and helping them to make sound risk management decisions. Although the industry has changed a lot since then, Scott’s commitment to client service has never wavered. Scott lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife, Janice. They have two grown children, four grandchildren, and two dogs. Outside of the office, Scott loves to surf, golf, hike, travel, and spend time with his family.Happy with the service Scott provided? 	Jayne Engle-Allen, CLCS, Vice President– Born and raised on the central coast, Jayne has been in the insurance industry nearly all of her life. Jayne attended UC Davis where she was a member of the UCD waterski team. She earned a bachelor’s degree, and upon graduating, was offered a position as an underwriter for an insurance company in Sacramento, CA. She moved back to the central coast in 2003 to run the personal insurance department of Engle & Associates. She earned her CLCS designation shortly after, and transitioned into commercial insurance and operations management. When she’s not in the office, Jayne enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies include wakeboarding, kayaking, snowboarding, riding dirtbikes, and pretty much anything that involves being in the water or being outdoors.Happy with the service Jayne provided? 	Wendy Bates– Wendy is a lifetime resident of the central coast and began her career in insurance in 1992. Wendy holds licenses for fire and casualty, as well as life and health insurance. Wendy manages our personal insurance program and specializes in total protection packages including home, auto, umbrella, RV, motorcycle, and more. She is very knowledgeable and is a great asset to our organization. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their teenage daughter. 	Brittney Palmer – Brittney was born in Fresno, CA and moved to San Luis Obispo in 1997. She has been in the insurance industry since 2005, and got her start here at Engle & Associates. Brittney specializes in personal insurance packages including home, auto, boat, motorcycle, and umbrella. Brittney loves educating her clients and helping them protect their assets. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their son, Camden. 	Sarah Cordova – Sarah was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, CA. She started in the insurance industry with Engle & Associates in 2006 as our receptionist. She advanced her career by obtaining her fire and casualty license and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree. When you call our office, Sarah is most likely the friendly voice you will hear on the other end of the line. Sarah’s specialties include: auto insurance, renters insurance, and mobile home insurance. She lives in San Luis Obispo with her two cats, Snickers & Cosmo, and outside of work, loves reading, hiking, traveling, wine tasting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.Happy with the service Sarah provided? 	Lisa K Murdoch, CIC – Commercial Insurance– Born in Lubbock, Texas Lisa moved to California in 1974. She began her insurance career in 1990 in Los Angeles and since then has gained invaluable knowledge and experience in all aspects of commercial and personal insurance with a dedicated focus on commercial insurance. She has a strong background in large commercial property portfolios and construction insurance including OCIP wrap administration. In 2000, she earned her Certified Insurance Counselor designation and is currently working on completing her bachelor’s degree. Outside of the office, Lisa is a lifelong athlete and she loves to golf, run, and hike. Lisa also enjoys camping, gardening, cooking, and reading.
